DSD was established in October, 1998 with the participation of 139 leather industry manufacturers with equal shares in this newly developed export establishment.

With time, DSD grew its export business and expanded its customer base to include other sectors, turning into the foreign trade capital (finance) company it is today. Now, the number of shareholder companies under DSD’s umbrella has grown to over 200.

Since its inception, DSD has become the intermediary for its shareholders to overcome the bureaucracy of the VAT (value added taxes) system. Previously, leather garment producers were largely exporting to C.I.S (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries, mainly Russia, via shuttle trade. With DSD's electronic invoicing system, these companies were able to bill their customers prior to shipment on the spot, therefore helping all export to be accounted for.

Most of DSD’s annual 200 million dollars in exports is generated by leather and leather garment companies?proprietary invoiced exports.
DSD is the only foreign trade finance company that supports numerous custom exit points with its own personnel, supporting proprietary invoice processes around the clock.

Since its inception, during the nine-year period between 1999 and 2007, DSD acted as an intermediary for over $1,250,000,000 worth of exports, DSD, in turn, enabled its clients to receiving VAT receipts totaling over $200 million.

Appropriately returned tax credits helped the leather sector compete efficiently in international markets as well as legitimizing small businesses competing for market share.

Introduction of Turkish leather into one of the largest leather markets in the Far East. DSD Hong Kong Ltd. was established in 2000 to market Turkish leather and apparels in China.

   
 

To minimize the business risk of our partners and supply them with the appropriate risk coverage, we've since established the DSD Insurance Agency A.?

   
 

We set up a subsidiary of DSD in Tuzla's duty-free zone to initiate an "international stores" project.

 
 

We created the DERRI brand with support from the government as a result of the Turkish government's initiative to increase exports and value added from increased exports. Through DERRI, we are marketing our partners' products under one brand name.

 
 

We are establishing international retail and wholesale sales organizations in order to market DERRI branded products.

 
 

We've opened retail stores in Poland and Russia to promote DERRI as a global brand, we applied for the Government-backed Turquality® programme and were awarded the Turquality seal of approval.

 
 

We have been providing tax refund services to local manufacturers and to visiting tourists through our subsidiary, DSD Refund. We are the first and only 100% domestically funded company approved by tax authorities in Turkey.

 
 

Both in exports and imports, we are providing support to our domestic manufacturers. Especially concerning imported materials from China, we are helping our clients to access safe and competitive products/services. We've since established DSD Sourcing as a result of this need.
